How? Just curious

Because from what we know, they had to unveil what it might look like without revealing one too many secrets too early. Perhaps in due time, a more finalized conception will be out before the actual reveal of the F-47.

I’m kind of old fashioned in the “looks good, flys good” way. And the image and the conceptual drawings look…uninspiring.

A straight line flying, stealth, missile carrier.

Considering the limits of human pilots may have been reached with the F-16, perhaps (and I’m gagging saying this) perhaps the machines should take the lead now.

The way I see it, maneuverability will not be a focus of the F-47. There will still be some degree of it, but in order that the F-47 would have the necessary space to handle both the upcoming long-range missiles and the advanced avionics and sensor systems that would enable it to interact and communicate with the CCA properly, some form of maneuverability would have to be sacrificed. Not to mention, it would also help in maintaining its stealth profile as moving a lot in fast speeds increase the chance of detection, especially by IR systems.

As such, the design of the F-47 looks to be one that would be less of a "fighter" and more of a "quarterback", and perhaps the maneuverability role will be left to the accompaning CCA drones, especially since they would be at the forefront of the fight.

While I agree with this, the technology where machinery and AI can take full control is still way too far. I believed that it was sooner back then, but even if AI technology and other such technologies are advancing at a very fast pace, there still needs to be a pilot in the cockpit to monitor and make the important decisions to deal with them. Whether the cockpit would be in the plane or from a base far away, human input would still be very much needed when it comes to making the important decisions that the AI in both the F-47 and the CCA will then carry out.

It is actually somebody's 3d model being sold on the internet. I don't remember which one, but I recognize the concept and found the pics in my files.

I have to say, this is pitiful from a military with an 800 billion budget to just get some random art from the internet and use it to show off as their next generation combat aircraft, even as a placeholder. Maybe that's where their F-47 CGI comes from lol.

They used it in a recruiting ad. No one at the USAF is claiming this represents NGAD or anything of the sort. And that ad has probably been in development since before the NGAD selection was announced.

Chances are they paid a marketing firm to do it. The marketing firm doesn't know anything about next generation combat aircraft. The USAF isn't telling. Boeing and LM certainly aren't. So of course they're going to get a commercially available model.

I still think this is a scale model, as you can see from the runway center line behind and the strange light and shadow. If it's cgi, there's no need to depict these things. In particular, this plane is relatively small compared to the runway center line. Instead, this could be an early stage aircraft, and there are several stages of ngad that may include validation aircraft in different technical states, and this could be one of them

Not a chance........the ad picture is a direct copy of the internet picture with background added. But if you really think that is a real airplane, please tell me what you are taking, I need some.

It seems that the design was inspired by the YF-23, the F-22, and possibly the B-2.

I see. Well, there goes the theory that it's one of the possible F-47 concepts, which I personally don't mind, because it clearly doesn't look the same as the official concept art that was unveiled, given that it lacked canards.

Seems like Alex Hollings fell for it though.

Just to help me provide you with an answer, you are aware that the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park are not real, right?
If the answer is no, please look up what CGI is. Also, here you will find some cool and entertaining videos to learn more about it.
If the answer is yes, then allow me to introduce you to the concept of ✨advertising✨, where realism is used to engage on an emotional level with the targeted audience.

I commented on Alex Hollings' video immediately after it was posted, linking to previous 3D renders to show that this is obviously not a sneak peek of a real aircraft. My comments are now deleted. Weird, huh? His poor comments section can only speculate.

This looks like a notional Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) manned platform. The Air Force and the Navy have parallel programs to develop their own NGAD concepts, which will be a family of systems, including unmanned aircraft and a long-range manned tactical type. This fits the bill

Might be the Youtube Algorithms at it again. I tried to respond to a comment on Max Afterburner's video about the F-47, but it was deleted. In fact, no matter how much I tried cleaning my comment, it just kept being deleted, so I just gave up on contributing to the discussion after a while.

It could be, yeah. Still, though, the video is still up. Shouldn't Alex know by now that this is not a real NGAD prototype?

Knowing how he works, he may just post a correction in a future video. He does not tend to delete his videos even if the subject there was proven wrong. For example, on November 9 last year, Alex Hollings released this video, theorizing that the F/A-XX would be the first US Sixth-Generation Fighter in light of the NGAD's pause. Of course, months later, the NGAD would be revealed as the F-47, and as of today, the F/A-XX is still the F/A-XX. Despite that sudden change, his video on that still remains up as of today.

If the point of it all was being informative and truthful...yes.

But I think we can all surmise that the aim is just generating clicks for engagement and ad-revenue, so...pump out that low-effort content, use cool thumbnails, make controversial titles and don't waste any time doing real research about topics or citing sources.
That's how you make that Youtube money.

I would assume that the glimpse of the supposed to be F-47 in the recruiting commercial is high quality ai generation.
