Interesting presentation from 2000. IIRC, Gary Hudson was in on this one. Shame it hasn't been built. We could sure use the ride right now.

He has been on a lot of projects that never got built.
 
There have been a multitude of capsule proposals. Recently there were many for COTS. For example Spacehab's Centaur-based Arctus. But only the ones that came with a new rocket were chosen: SpaceX's Dragon and Orbital's Cygnus.

Bizarre is an understatement to describe the world NASA lives in.
