I have taken a greater interest in rotorcraft in the last couple of years after a little experience with gyroplanes. One type that interests me in particular are tractor (propeller in front) autogyros and am daydreaming about a future homebuilt autogyro project. This would be a one- or two-seat tractor autogyro with pitch and roll control from a two-bladed teetering rotor and one or more rudders for yaw. I am not looking to build replica, but I am looking for inspiration and I figure a group with such diverse aviation interests as this one might be able to help. Here are few tractor autogyro designs that I like, who has others to suggest? With pictures, please! Cheers, Matthew

Pitbull aka North American Rotorwerks were selling this one, but have suspended manufacture:

I saw one on floats at the Arlington,WA EAA Fly-In back in 2002.

BTW the Kayaba Ka-1 is a derivation of the Kellet KDB-1, they had the Japanese license for Kellet.

Thanks, guys. The Little Wing certainly makes the most logical sense, i am just not fond of its wingless Piper Cub looks, will probably look more in the direction something like the Weir but maybe a two-seater with a canopy. Keep the inspiration coming!
