Dear Boys & Girls, here is a French "Secret Project" for you; the SNCAC Aérocentre NC.820 light transport. Note there are two engines driving contra-rotating propellors......

Most likely not "Secret", but very definitely a "Project"; dating from 1946......

The cutting is taken from the 29th December 1956 issue of Les Ailes......

Great find indeed, Terry!
Any clues about contenders ? Judging propulsion and capacity it would
have been in a class with the SNCASO SO.7010 Pegase.

Sorry Jemiba, I don't know anything else; I'm immune to light aircraft ;D......

Carave, while you are at it, any more info on the SO-5000 Global Courier (turboprop antecedent of the SO-5100 Champagne) would be much appeciated....

Dear Skybolt, how esoteric do you think I can get? And I'm not even French......

Thanks, this unknown twin-boomer is very interesting.
It seems this is a double engine driving a double propeller, less uncommon than the Matra R75 design (where 2 separate lateral engines drive a central propeller - or a central double propeller on the patent http://v3.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/mosaics?CC=GB&NR=605641&KC=&FT=E ).

From JAWA 1947.
