Hi,

as I know this French designer began work during WWI,he started with Courtois-Suffit Lescop C.S.L.1,it was a single
seat single bay fighter biplane, powered by either 140 hp Clegret 9Bf or 200 hp Clerget 11E engine, appeared in 1917,
and followed by a refined version, also powered by either one 150 hp Clerget 9Bf or 300 hp Clerget 9Bf engine, also
its model of 1917 is different a little in wind tunnel.

In Onera Archive, they mentioned that this inventor created a wide fuselage monoplane Project, tested during in
the year 1924,no more details are known.

The title should be Roger Courtois-Suffit Aircraft and Projects for the full name of M. Courtois-Suffit. The CSL 1 (designed with capitaine Lescop) was designed for the Clerget 11E which was never fitted. It was, as you say, powered by a 140 hp Clerget 9Bf with a back up plan for 160 hp Gnome Monosoupape 9Nc (again, never fitted). The prototype was build by SA SAIB (Société Anonyme d'Applications Industrielles du Bois)

Although not visible in the photo, the CSL 1 apparently was fitted with one of the first sets of hinged leading edge flaps (slats?). On 03 April 1923, Roger Courtois-Suffit of Paris was granted patent 1,450,431 Landing Indicator for Aircraft (in which some sources claim he was assisted by Jacques le Comte de Lesseps).

Where is that patent, anfd if there was a drawing to it ?.

I got that from the Official Gazette of the United States Patent Office, vol 309, April 1923.
