Seems to be legit. FWIW, this video originally appeared on the RES (Renewable Energy Systems) Institute website as:
"Film 2 - RES-Stereocopter
This helicopter has two counter-rotating, two-layered rotors, each with four bracket-shaped rotor blades. The lower blade segment of the rotor blade is radially offset from the upper blade segment and runs ahead. With the blade segments arranged at an angle with respect to the axis of rotation and connecting the lower and upper blade segments, the helicopter can be accelerated from a standstill in any direction. Furthermore, it can maintain its position precisely even in strong crosswinds, which is a particular advantage for a cargo helicopter. Patent applications for the #resmonocopter and #resstereocopter helicopters have been filed with the DPMA and I will send the patent documents to you on request."
As for the RES Institute itself, under
Über uns, they say the following (translated) about 'Motivation':
"The RES Institute is dedicated to researching new possibilities for using regenerative energies*, as well as CO2-free mobility concepts and new technologies for aviation. The free and independent research institute was founded in 2016 by the architect and inventor Friedrich Grimm, who teaches as an honorary professor at Faculty 1 of the University of Stuttgart and has a local, regional and international network. The name RES stands for research in general and in a narrower sense for renewable energy systems (“Renewable Energy Systems”), in a broader sense the RES Institute shows a way for a new start in the 21st century with revolutionary and disruptive technologies on.
The corporate goal of the RES Institute is to make the inventions and developments presented here available to interested partners from industry and business within the framework of purchase and license agreements. In this context, the RES Institute accepts development and design orders for the areas indicated in the header."
