The Pratt & Whitney JT10D (which ultimately became the PW-2000) was to have been a collaborative project between P&W, Rolls-Royce, MTU & Fiat:
As @Apophenia notes here https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/rolls-royce-rb-designations.27741/#post-287147 Rolls-Royce cancelled the RB.235 to participate in the project but ultimately didn't proceed, although MTU did.
The reason for Rolls-Royce's withdrawal may have been the falling through of the linked R-R/P&W RB.401 collaboration which was stymied by anti-competition law:
