Sad news:

http://aviationweek.com/commercial-aviation/joe-sutter-father-747-dies-95

I was just watching him in this BBC documentary a few days ago:

A great loss - the designer of an iconic aircraft.

Sad news.

I've always had a soft spot for the 747, designed as a stop-gap until the SSTs were flying (They never did when the Americans chucked a hissy fit because their plane was not in the air first...) they revolutionized flying. I took my first flight to England in one.

More sad new
