There's a reference in British Secret Projects 5 to a launcher larger than the Douglas ROMBUS.
possibly the largest and most costly space vehicle ever designed - a design produced by H.E. Wang of the California-based Aerospace Corporation and known to the British as 'Wang's Vehicle'

The chart shows a dry vehicle weight of 7 million pounds, i.e. as much as a fueled Saturn V.

Does anyone have any information on this? A search doesn't turn up anything useful, not helped by the generic company name. The Aerospace Corporation is an American nonprofit corporation that operates a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) in El Segundo, California.

They did generic scientific research into space launchers, reentry etc, not really specific designs, so most likely this is a very notional 'design' in the loosest sense.

A few articles here by him in the AIAA Journal

For comparison, the AMLVV with 12 boosters "only" had a dry mass of 5,200,000 pounds
And since most of its dry mass (85%) were the heavy SRBs, I'm sure a more effective 7,000,000 pounds dry mass rocket could dwarf the AMLVV in term of payload

With 7,000,000 lbs or 3175 metric tons, were even beyond SPS booster from 1970s (from here all in metric)

The NASA JSC 1976 proposal weight empty 1286 tons, full 14203 tons and payload of 700 tons !
The Boeing "VTVL-HLLV" (1976) weight empty 1047 tons. full 8,243 tons payload of 400t in low orbit (reusable)
even Boeing MLLV (1969) has empty mass 2187 ton, for total payload of 1696 tons in low orbit.
(with 12 solid booster (260 inch) full launch weight over 26.088 tons)

What ever Wang design either is reusable or has enormous payload over 2000 tons or both ?
