It is electric with a range of 30 minutes to 1 hour, fairly quiet, has only one place, but it is capable of carrying 100 km / h.
The project is expected to be available in 2021 and will be used primarily for emergencies, when catrastrophes. This probably explains it, the individual helicopter Hirobo Bit Hx-1 has been designed and appointed offices in Hiroshima. Interesting that Hirobo are [as far as I know] best known for their R/C helicopters and now they're trying to move into 1:1 scale craft. It's also quite possible that the technology and / or experience from the high end of R/C is that which is enabling a lot of what they're trying to do (brushless DC motors, LiPo battery packs, solid state stabilisation systems etc.).

But principally it is based on "standard" helicopter technology, co-axial rotor with pitch and
cyclic control and not a "multicopter" like the e-volo (http://www.e-volo.com/)
As this seems to be intended as a commercial product in the end, it would be interesting to
know, how they managed the problem of fusing the LiPo batteries. In the worlds very first
electrically powered helicopter, this was done by ... nothing at all, as there are no fuses. They
would have been much too heavy, so this safety measure was simply abandoned. But for
a "PEH" (Personal Electric Helicopter), that is made for the market, this probably isn't the best
solution. ::)

"Miranda Otto replaces the capuchin monkey in the 2004 remake. :eek: "

At least for the film, I prefer the latter one !

But back to the topic. Although it is said NOT to be delivered before 2021, it would be interesting to know,
which kind of license would be needed.
I'm feeling uneasy to see many people driving cars, motorbikes or even mopeds, so I don't think that
proliferation of such aircraft would boost traffic standards. ::)
