The Patent US5,082,198 of 1990/1992, by Navnit Patel, is a surprising" recreational flying boat" (or "recreational flying truck"): the aircraft part takes off but not completely, staying linked to the support vehicle (that never takes off). I don’t know how to classify it.

I would classify it as "odd", no doubt... and I love it! Thanks for sharing this incredible find!
 
Apart from the "recreational" use (which could mean everything), perhaps
such a thing could be a relatively inexpensive training device ? ???
