Well Anotnov himself was Russian. While the Design Bureau is in Kiev the factories were across the old Soviet Union with the one in Ukraine being very much in the Russian part (Kharkov). But not that anyone in the Antonov business should be complaining. Their business future is very much in the west alignment not selling to Russia.

Maybe one day we will see An-72s being built in the US South (Alabama, Mississippi, Florida) with a US Label (Raytheon, Northrop, maybe even Boeing...). But I guess that depends on how USAF approaches the inevitable replacement of the C-130H.

Abraham,

There's a replacement for the C-130H...the C-130J. ;)

Found this quite cool B-MACK image in a Lockheed FB-22 presentation.

(the original post is in the first page of the topic)

Is this really B-MACK? Only now I noted the very different platform, compared to the previously known MACK/BMACK renderings. Namely absolutely different wing shape, trailing edge, canards...

HEY GUYS ,WHY ARE THE MAJORATY OF THIS PAGE IMAGES CLOSED? I HAVEN´T SEEN THEM YET...

Thanks alot Flateric! What do u mean new? Since i thought these programs are cancelled in favor of a joint heavy lift between army and air force.

Should I say 'old new' renderings then

I didn't mean to pick on your wording. I only wanted to make sure that I'm not missing any new information if there is any.

donnage99, where it came from - if possible?

just for memo - "MACK was an acronym for M(stealthy transport), AC(gunship), and K-X(penetrating tanker)."

Flateric, it's from the same presentation on Configurable Air Transport. Here:

Very interesting document, thanks Donnage!
Flateric, any equivalent studies conducted by the Russian Federation Air Force so far?

Thanks in advance,

Philippe

there are versions with more emphasis on stealth
fate of this program, meantime, is much less certain than JHTLV and if it will ever gain momentum, it will be far future

Very, very nice document. Thanks for sharing!

Greetings All -

Interesting aircraft in the lead - any idea of who's concepts these are?

Enjoy the Day! Mark

It is reminiscent of the Lockheed-Georgia "lambda" design.

Yep, the openings for the sustain engines. BTW, since all the concepts seem to use UHB fans, time-period should be mid to late '80s.
