Future book : Phantom, by Tim McLelland

Hmm, I'll reserve judgement until I see some reviews. His Harrier book is excellent but his TSR-2 book is eclipsed by Damien Burke's. GIven the number of other books out there on the Phantom II, he's got a high bar to clear.

The book is out.

I browsed it in a bookstore.

Since I'm only interested by unpublished early F4H photos (prototype and pre-production aircrafts with streamlined canopy), I was a bit disapointed because I noticed that many of the photos of these early F4H aircrafts seem to come from Tommy's blogs and from Flickr (n747ge, aeroman3 and aerofifties photostreams for instance...).

On the other hand I understand that many authors look now for old photos on flickr and internet, because archival photos from manufacturers like McDonnell, Douglas, NAA etc. are now very expensive with Boeing Images.... No more "Courtesy Boeing" as a photo credit...

Otherwise, at first glance, this book seems to be a serious study, the result of hard work, with a lot of text and a lot of colour pictures very well printed.
