Does anyone have any information on boost pressure for this engine? What grade of fuel was used? As it was designed for a record attempt I assume it would have burned a 'witches brew' with a higher octane rating than the 87 that was standard in 1940-41 for the Regia Aeronautica.

What are good sources for information on WW2 era Italian engine projects? Sources in English or Italian would be welcomed.

An answer from another board, the boost pressure used for the AS8 seems to have been 1350 mm Hg - or 26 psi using UK measurement.

Thanks Ray, that extract is from Aeronautica Militare Museo Storico Catologo Motori by Oscar Marchi. One of the precious few resources that exist on Italian aero engines.
