Félix Wankel, of rotary engine fame, endeavoured on "gleitkufenboote" during WW2. the Zisch 42 is most famous, but I did not know the Zisch 39, an interesting prototype pictured here. The projected torpedo carrier is reminiscent of some K-Verband proposals. I recall a model of a "gleitkufenboot" in a Harald Fock`s book.
