Dear Boys and Girls, here is an article in French describing the Bréguet Br.978A jet airliner which remained a "project". It was one of the submissions to the specification that resulted in production of the Sud-Est SE.210 Caravelle. The article seems to have been intended to show that France had not been left behind in the research into crescent-wing configurations and was published alongside an article on the Handley-Page Victor......

The article comes from the 17th January 1953 issue of Les Ailes......

Jemiba has much better pictures of the Bréguet Br.978 designs......

Yes, thank you Toura. Jemiba did excellent drawings of the Bréguet Br.978 "projects" some time ago here

in a topic about Sud Caravelle (?) "projects" (Jemiba, can you put your drawings here where they belong please?)......

Well, ok, as this really is the more appropriate thread now. Think I got a more precise drawing
of the AP in the meantime, but still have search for it ... :-\

Well, did some thinking (sometimes it works !) about where to look, and as the Br.978 was
a contender to the Caravelle, I looked up in John Weggs "Caravelle" book. There it was,
although with light blue lines scanning was a little bit difficult.
Breguet actually found a much more elegant solution for fitting the Bristol Proteus to the nose,
than me. Maybe my profile of the Proteus was wrong ? ???
