BAE has agreed a deal to purchase the aerospace division of Ball Packaging for $5.5bn (£4.4bn) the company is a major player in the civilian and military satellite sensors and instruments with an annual turnover around $2bn, they also make the communication antenna for the F-35 and cameras for missiles. Ball are the largest manufacturer in the world of aluminium cans and were selling the division to reduce their debt pile. BAE beat out other bidders Blackstone Capital, Veritas Capital, General Dynamics and Textron
