Hi,

here is a short-haul aircraft projects suggested by ALPA (Air Lines Pilots Assn.) to
replace DC-3.

Yes, during the 1950s, dozens of manufacturers (Avro, Convair, dehavilland of Australia, deHavilland of Canada, deHavilland of Great Britain, Fokker, Illushin, Martin, SAAB, etc.) all tried to build "DC-3 replacements" but they could never compete with the low cost of war-surplus airplanes.

Don't forget Lockheed which tried with their Model 75 Saturn albeit too small. -SP
