This is, sadly, all that the NASM had of any real worth on the Fairchild F-15. A billion copies of the same lame "F-15 Thunder For The 70's" brochure that had nothing on the actual design, scattered throughout their files. And these few drawings. Sigh.

Anyway, you know where to get the higher rez versions...

Great find!!!

I have always loved Fairchild FX (F-15) ever since I first saw it in the book 'The Thunder Factory'.
Was the 'Thunder' the official name for the design (as portrayed in this picture!)
I look forward to a colour version of this picture and I salute the man who finds it!!!

Well, since you ask so nicely, I'll be happy to post "moar" photos... but I need to get the model first!
 
Manufacturer's proposal model of the Fairchild-Hiller (Republic) F-15, from about 1967-68. The vertical fin is taller than what appears in most drawings and illustrations: not sure which came first.

Just like the proposal documentation itself, it was customary for certain concept models to carry a caption such as "Secret" or "Classified", especially when the mission or aircraft performance could be ascertained from direct observation.

You bet! In fact, it's already shot down a MiG-29 model and a Su-27 model (note to our Russian members: no miniature pilots were injured during this air-superiority exercise).

I presume that the MiG-29 and the Su-27 belonged to a virtual rogue state or a defunct regime. ;) Thank you for sharing the photographs circle-5, it is very much appreciated.

Another view of the Fairchild-Hiller (Republic) F-15 proposal model. A short drive away, Grumman was developing the F-14 (which had a single fin at the time). I wonder if somebody left the door open...

Yes, I had to wait almost 90 seconds for this report. That's just not acceptable.
 
Nice find.

I think FX- designs with number suffixes are Republic FX designs while designs with letter suffixes are FX designs by other companies. They are much rougher but correspond quite closely with FX designs from other companies.
