Some more info here:

Specifications:

Also, I'm having some trouble with this:
http://forums.bmaa.org/attach.aspx/7127/X-14Translation.pdf

Particularly the words 'intertseptor' and 'shank'. However, it does confirm that this is almost certainly the smallest aircraft ever produced to have a triple-slotted flap with slats!

In addition to figuring out the meanings of the words "intertseptor", and "shank" (slotted controls?)...

*edit* intertseptor apparently means spoiler... shank I'm not so sure about though...

Was featured in the January 1993 issue of Popular Science magazine.

I remember efforts to market it in the US came to nothing. I wonder what became of the plane and Mr Dmitriev after that.

Around 1993 they were also marketing the X12... which was about twice the weight and a bit less compact, had a simplified wing, and included a wind-screen... the engine also appears to have been moved higher (which might move it partly out of the turbulence from the windscreen?).

Thank you. Looking at the photographs the tabs seem quite large for trim tabs?

Also, any idea why it needed spoilers?

To change airfoil camber.

Roll control, in addition to the ailerons.

Motorcar, thank you for drawing!

That's particular case, when word "cutaway" didn't correspond to the illustration
There are very few things, that could be revealed under the skin of this ultralight

Aha! Thank you!

So, the control surface itself consisted of a bunch of segments that changed shape and had slots! Interesting.

Validates your observation Silencer1 and I am aware that cutaway is not the right word, but just use it to provide the "Search" Internet more easily locate that image, so whenever I share some schematic cut initially use the word "Cutaway"
