Does a photo of William Green exist? I have collected his books for 60 years. He once dedicated a book to his wife with the quotation,
"To my wife whose indifference to things aeronautical I find so refreshing"

Among his books I have a number of his Observer's Book of Aircraft series

Thanks for the photo. WIlliam Green's 'Pilot Press' collection was one of the most substantial collections of aviation material ever put together. Hundreds of cutaway drawings, 3 views and artworks commissioned, plus a giant library of photos. Sold to Aerospace Publishing, sadly a lot was lost in a flood. He died in 2010.

I never met him, though I did meet his 'co-conspirator' Mr Swanborough. An incredibly knowledgeable enthusiast.

Sorry, that jpg. you attached is not our William Green--too young for one thing, and "Richer, Wiser, Happier" is certainly not the
sort of bombast he would write. He was happy writing about aircraft.
