A few years ago a group apparently containing no engineers came up with a 'brilliant' idea and through the magic of crowdfunding bought it to fruition...


Perhaps they should have spoken to some engineers first...

There's lots of "let's not listen to the engineers" going around.


See also *any* project to obtain drinking water directly from the air... Fontus, WaterSeer, etc. Basic math shows that they don't make sense... except as scams. For that role they work great.

Don't overhyped Engineers. The 90's culture also did impact that profession.

I recall a short lived advertisment campaign, (I only every saw one ad in a magazine we passed around and laughed at till it fell apart) for Fluke Electronics:

"Remember, if it works it's a FLUKE!"

The 90's was all about "Can do" though and very little about whether one should or not.
