I like it! A carrier/cruiser/minisub mothership mashup. Kind of a precursor to today's modern LHD.

It was called the "Roo". It was envisioned as a "super-dreadnought"

Clearly this borrowed from a lot of other speculation and literature...

...but what are 'Stratosphere guns' (turrets marked number 14... lowest of the midship gun turrets, but still superfiring over the two pairs of aft turrets)?
