Does anyone have any info on the UK's Nightbird programme beyond the features in Jane's Avionics etc.?
There was a two-seat Harrier which tested the GEC TICM II FLIR/HUD/NVG combination that has appeared in some old Flight articles etc., but does anyone have pics of the Buccaneer used in the trials? This is reported to have used a system that was different from TIALD in having a nav/ident FLIR (i.e. 1:1 plus mag, rather than low mag/hi mag for TIALD) plus a CO2 laser for ranging rather than designation.
Also, any info on the FIRSTSIGHT IRST installed in the TIARA Tornado?
