Here is tilt-rotor project presented by TsAGI's NIO-3 bureau.

It is called the Stalker-501 or Ulun (the name of an owl).

Specs and more info (in Russian of course) in the source document:

Given the crew size in one of the pictures, it appears smaller than an MV-22. Suspect it is sized for certain cubage. By this I mean wider cargo. Also suspect larger fuel tanks.

Given the shear geographic size of the Russian Federation, with remote infrastructure, I have always wondered why aircraft like tilt rotor have not seen more relevance. Surely it cannot be a technology issue. I have assumed it has been financial constraints more than anything else.

Having looked at the attached file I can see (what I interpret) to be that the argument for the design seems to be exactly that the tilt rotor can operate over the extended distances. With Russia looking to explore the the oil resources in the Artic this would seem to me to be a practical concept.

Amusing how those computational fluid dynamics studies show the strongest vortexes coming off wing roots.
