Dornier worked on this advanced AAM in 1977-1980. It featured body lift and in one form motor TVC steering. Both IR and miniature radar guidance were investigated.

Interesting nozzle design there. One comparatively small nozzle aimed directly aft and four canted nozzles that balance through the missile centerline. I can understand the multiple nozzles as opposed to one large nozzle, it makes for better expansion ratios and better performance.

From a Dornier Advert, AWST November 12 1979. Appears to be the radar homing version.

Another new programme is Tirailleur, a low-cost short to medium range air-to-air missile with, as the name suggests, an undisclosed degree of French participation. Optional radar and infra-red homing heads are envisaged and the missile is intended for the ECA. The weapon will be similar in size to the US advanced medium-range air-air missile (AMRAAM).

Flight International 14 Jun 1980

Conceptual ancestor to MICA?

Apparently it was meant to have a liquid fuel rocket motor and came (optionally) with an TV/laser-rangefinder target tracker mounted on the Aircraft
Pictures includ an IR-seeker variant and a longer range variant with secondary functionality against air-defenses
