Has anyone seen what the early Saro S.36 with gull wings looked like and what was Saro's reason for changing to the design they finally did?

What did the Supermarine 314 look like?

The Supermarine Type 314 was a revised version of the Type 308, so Two RR Vultures, twin tail.

Here is the Supermarine 314;

The Type 314 made maximum use of the available interior space in the wing provided by the 'D' box single spar and leading edge. Fuel in the spar box and bombs stowed behind the spar. Retractable stabiliser floats of unique design in the outer wing Type 314 wing interior.jpg Type314_3a.jpg .

You would be forgiven for mistaking it for an early Cold War design. Nice.

Plenty for the anti-shipping role
