Bicaliber aicraft automatic gun S-10/S-20 was designed in 1944 by Central Artillery Design Bureau (russian ЦАКБ). Gun was designed in two variants of barrel - 45 mm (S-20) and 57 mm (S-10). S-20 have 105 shots per minute rate of fire, S-10 - 108 shots per minute. S-10 round can penetrate 50-mm armor plate (shooting on the ground). This aircraft gun system passed ground firing trials in december 1944, but i haven't information about aircraft firing trials.

Were those guns intended for air-to-ground use only, or also for
air-to-air ?
(Sorry, can't read russian, maybe the captions to the different cartridges
give a clue ?)

From description: against heavy enemy aircraft (1200 m and less distance), and ground targets.

Excellent pics, Taranov.

No, just few aircraft features in Central Artillery Department documents.

If something on the Nudelman N-76 automatic cannon pops up, please let us know, ok?
