From Brian’s family: We regret to inform you that Brian passed away on 6/2/21.

Brian was a photographer specializing in aviation photography and panoramic landscapes. He started with a Kodak Brownie in the 1960s. He got his first 35mm camera in 1973 and had a lengthy addiction to Kodachrome. He transitioned to digital photography in 2004. Brian's adventures in travel and photography were focused in the American Southwest. He was the curator of the virtual air and space museum at https://www.air-and-space.com/ which expressed his passion for airplanes and we will continue to maintain his website. Brian authored and published seven books about aviation history. He most recently published "Balls 3," a companion to "Balls 8" about the NB-52A and NB-52B Stratofortress Motherships. His books can be found at https://www.lulu.com/spotlight/lockettbooks?pageOffset=1.

We loved this quote from his friend, Mike, who said “He was a good man to have along at a bad movie, or on a long drive on a back road.”

Donations can be made in Brian’s memory to Pima Air & Space Museum where the NB-52A and NB-52B are on display: https://pimaairandspacemuseum.formstack.com/forms/donations
