Orbital Glide Vehicle & Supersonic Carrier

Thanks for the link.

It's annoying that although the document acknowledges various organisations (eg Convair, Lockheed, North American Aviation) it doesn't attribute concepts to any one ... May be someone recognises this from elsewhere?

Thank you! And pretty fascinating read. But I'm still most impressed by that TSTO concept at the begining of this thread.

Mind sending the link again? It doesn't work anymore.
The Internet Archive Wayback Machine at https://web.archive.org/ can really be your new best friend, but here it is, kiddo (or would you rather prefer the term rookie - I really don't want to be impolite to internet newbies)...

I know what the internet archive is, but sometimes it isn't my friend. Sometimes when I use it it will just give me errors such as "page not found" or stuff like that. Also I tried opening the file and it said "cannot display PDF (incorrect format)" :(. Also rookie is fine, despite me having done plenty of my own research on mystery aircraft for a year and a half now lol.

Ok nevermind, Internet Archive was in a good mood today and it let me place the previous link so I was able to download the file.

What an interesting document. Thanks for sharing! The reference vehicles seem like an interesting mix of designs in play at the time. The ones I recognize line up with the companies listed in the acknowledgements in the intro.

This one I've just been calling "Lockheed 1960ish Kramer B Saunders Reentry Vehicle", so by all means, correct my taxonomy. I found some newish, higher res images of this design (and several others) in the Kramer B Saunders collection at the Digital Maryland archives. Link Below.

I love the "Safety Orange" paintjob for the experimental launch vehicle.
