There are very few books or monographies dedicated to the G8N contrary to other Nakajima types.

Koku-Fan #90 was devoted to both the G5N and the G8N. But while there are a few inside pics of the former, I was only able to locate one picture of the Renzan's guts!!

Wow amazing!! Thanks for sharing us. This is what we need. This picture must be taken in Newark airport in New York city after the war.
Renzan had a rather modern cockpit.

Thank you Blacckite san! its for its time a very advanched bomber design and its cockpit is of a nice and clean design.

Hi! Renzan's nose was something like B-25. Engine nacelle shape was similar to B-29.
Nakajima designed steel structure Renzan-kai to save aluminum alloy, but didi not realized.

Im curious what happened with the G8N in the USA,Im afraid it was selled for scrap.

I recall reading an article about it in IIRC, Air Classics. The tested aircraft was a Japanese flight test aircraft. Crew stations were stuck here and there, and poorly organized. They could never get all four engines to work right at the same time, and the brakes were so bad that they were replaced by B=24 units. They shortly realized they had nothing to learn from the airplane, and junked it.

Yes. Turbochargers's low reliability was still serious problem at the day. :'(

I wonder if this the aircraft that the Japanese wanted the Ju-222 engine for.

New topic split from the old "Japanese Projects before 1945" thread.

I found a big photo of the Cockpit.Hope you all like it like I do.
