The note on the back says "Bomb rack, Experimental, for Mousetrap Projectile" so perhaps "Mousetrap" is the bomb not the rack? Sounds like the Mousetrap anti-submarine rockets, perhaps without the rocket charge as those don't look like rails? Just so. Mousetrap was tested as an air-launched bomb, with retrorockets to offset the aircraft's forward speed so it would fall vertically onto a submarine target.
