More photos of MG 151 ground mount cannons

Hi

I would love to see a closer view of this super rare German cannon. I googled so hard but couldn't find the exact model shown in this picture. Any help from the Forum Experts here would be appreciated. Thanks :)

I don't think that there was a special model - just standard aircraft guns in improvised ground and AA mountings.

Musgrave says: "In the latter part of WW2 quantities of the MG 151 were excess to the needs of the Luftwaffe. Some were used as improvised antiaircraft weapons, other's were given to the Volksturm to be used as ground machine guns." Obviously, your pic shows the latter.

Musgrave includes a couple of photos, one showing a single MG 151 on an pedestal-type AA mount, the other shows a triple AA mounting.

How about not posting pics of dead bodies without some warning (put them inside a spoiler block with a description).
Yes -- it's sad, isn't it? To sometimes see the results of these toys with which we are so fascinated?
