Isn't that an unbuilt Australian project?

I think I saw an article and side view drawing in the Flightglobal archive?

"does anyone out there know if the Molyneux XM-1000 twin rotor helicopter an actual projected design or a what-if concept?"

Sorry, a bit late ... ::) :

Janes 1956-57 said, that the XM-1000 was designed to be powered by a 550 hp P & W Wasp
engine and should have a range of 350 miles with a MOW of 1850 kg. Development of the
XM-1000 was started in conjunction with the "Aeronautical Research Laboratories of the
Australian Department of Supply". So it seems to have been a real project , not just a "What-If" .

Molyneux XM-1000 was clearly an Aussie helicopter project. More info and specs are available at the following links:

An excellent article from The Sydney Morning Herald of 4 June 1954: https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/27517647#

It contains a description of the Molyneux helicopter, including the dimensions of its cabin. Also it says that the helicopter would be powered by 450 hp Australian-built CAC Cicada engine (http://www.enginehistory.org/Piston/CAC/cac.shtml).

Below you'll find the article's photocopy along with a rather blurry drawing (we have its better quality version posted in https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/th...helicopter-its-derivatives.15196/#post-371451).
