Hi,

I don't know the earlier aircraft to Messerschmitt,except S.5,S.8,S.10,S.14,
and S.15 gliders and S.16 motor glider aircraft.
M-17 :two seat high wing light sport aircraft,powered by one Bristol Cherul II
engine.
M-18 :single engined high wing light transport aircraft,powered by one110 hp
Siemens-Halske Sh.12 radial engine.
M-19 :was single seat low wing light formula aircraft.

Hi,

M-20 :10 passenger high wing transport aircraft,powered by
one 500 hp BMW VIa inline piston engine.
M-21 :two seat trainer biplane,powered by one 96 hp Siemens
SL.11 or one 125 hp Siemens Sh.12 radial engine.
M-22 :three seat twin engined biplane bomber,powered by two
500 hp Bristol Jupiters.

Hi,

M-23 :two seat low wing light monoplane,powered by one
110 hp Cirrus Hermes III inline piston engine.
M-24 :eight passenger high wing monoplane a smaller development
of M-20 with 280 hp Junkers Jumo inline engine.
M-25 :light monoplane,project only.no detail.
M-26 :high wing three seat cabin monoplane,a scale-down version
of M-18 with 100 hp Siemens SL.11 radial engine.

Hi,

M-27 :two seat open cockpit low wing monoplane,developed from M-23,powered
by one 120 hp Argus As8 engine.
M-28 :single engined low wing mailplane for Lufthansa, with 525 hp BMW Hornet
engine.
M-29 :two seat low wing racer monoplane,powered by 150 hp Siemens SL.14a
radial engine.

Hi,

M-30 :all metal version of M-26 three seat cabin monoplane,
powered by 175 hp Wright Whirlwind engine.
M-31 :two seat low wing monoplane, powered by one 60 hp
BMW Xa radial engine.
M-32 :project for two seat single engined biplane trainer.
M-33 :ulta-light parasol wing single seat monoplnae,powered
by one 15 hp DKW engine.

M-34 :not known to me.
M-35 :single/two seat low wing trainer and sport monoplane,
powered by one 135 hp Argus As 86 inline engine.
M-36 :single engined six passenger high wing light transport
monoplane,powered by one 380 hp Armstrong-Siddeley
Serval radial engine.
M-37 :single engined low wing high performance cabin monoplane
of all metal construction,later redesigned as BF.108.

M 34 :project only " antipode plane "

The P 1020 was the M 32 . and was designed by Paul.J Hall . He left BFW and went to Heinkel where he proceeded with the design ...as the He 72 .

Interesting Richard. Thanks for the correction/clarification. (I've removed my erroneous statement to avoid future confusion.)

So, Oberingenieur Paul J. Hall goes from Dietrich-Gobiet (eg: DP XI) to Raab-Katzenstein (eg: RK 2 Pelican) to BFW (eg: P 1020/M 32) to Heinkel (eg: He 72)?

I saw a date of 1929 for Hall's move to BFW. But also a suggestion that his involvement with Heinkel dates back to when he was designing for RaKa. Any idea if the latter is accurate?

Hello

The story is told in the "Willy Messerschmitt-Pionier der Luftfahrt und des Leichtbaues" by Ebert,Kaiser,Peters. (Bernard&Graefe Verlag ) ,as it seems to have been told by Paul J. Hall himself.
Parts for Five M 32 were built at BFW before BFW bankruptcy in 1931.
Hall came to Heinkel where he designed the He72 on the basis of the M 32 . Heinkel offered him a BMW car for it's work ...
I hope my traduction is right (German to English via French ;D )

Fascinating story Richard. Thanks. A little ironic that Hall's move to Heinkel was rewarded with a Bavarian-built car :)
