This is the just released Durafly Me-163B radio controlled flying model. It is powered by a brushless electric motor driving a propeller in the position of the original's generator prop and has the option to fire a model rocket engine in the rocket nozzle. It does an ROG (Rise Off Ground) takeoff with a droppable dolly as the full scale aircraft did. The wingspan is 950mm making it a little smaller than 1/10 scale. It is molded from a rubbery foam similar to that used for packaging. The model comes completely painted and marked requiring only the installation of the prop and fin and a buyer provided receiver and lithium polymer battery pack.

It is available worldwide for a price less than many desk models: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__77994__Durafly_8482_Me_163_Komet_950mm_High_Performance_Rocket_Fighter_PNF_AR_Warehouse_.html
Also available from the same source are beautiful flying models of the DH Vampire, Sea Vixen, Spitfire Mk 24, and Lancaster.

I don't work for them but have enjoyed many of their products and this is the closest I will get to flying these classic aircraft. The guys who run the outfit are Brits and I think they have exquisite taste in their aircraft picks. Hopefully, they will do an EE Lightning and a Vulcan in the future.
