From Code One magazine:

The Model 286 was one of three helicopter designs ever built by Lockheed. This five-seat helicopter featured the rigid rotor design first pioneered on the earlier Lockhed CL-475 and retractable skids to minimize drag. Demonstrated top speed was 206 mph. The Model 286 was highly manueverable, as it is shown here powering through the top of a roll manuever. This photo was taken circa 1966 over California.

There is a funny picture of a guy hanging off the aero sensors probe in front of the nose while the chopper was in hover, IIRC. This was done to demonstrate control power of rigid rotor.

Here it is AeroFranz; with a caption in French......

Note how the Lockheed XH-51A prototype maintains a horizontal attitude; the pilot is sitting there "hands-off" too......

The picture comes from the 1st September 1965 issue of Aviation Magazine International......
