Dear Boys and Girls, here is a small article in French announcing the development of the Latécoère Laté-870 business/light aircraft powered by two Turboméca Astazou turboprops which remained a "project"......

The article comes from the 12th May 1961 issue of Les Ailes......

Wow, I can't say that I've ever seen that engine layout before. From a maintenance standpoint it seems less than ideal, let alone from an aesthetic standpoint.

the Late-800 was intended to compete in the 1951 contest for for a medium
range aircraft,the contenders were;

SNCASE X-200,X-201,X-202,X-203,X-204,X-205,X-206 & X-210,Hurel-DUBOIS HD.40,
HD.41 & HD.45,Dassault MD.900,SNCASO SO.60A,SO.60B & SO.60C,Breguet Br.978,
Late-800,Gerin V.? and Nord N.3000.

That's Hurel-DUBOIS! French equivalent of the surname "Wood" in English.
