Dear Boys and Girls, here is an article in French about the Latécoère Laté-160 transatlantic airliner from 1945 which remained a "project". It features a then typical Latécoère tail-unit, but has an old-fashioned tail-wheel undercarriage and appears to be quite closely related to Latécoère's flying-boat designs. It was to be powered by four Hispano-Suiza HS.24Z 24 cylinder liquid-cooled engines and was a design contemporary of the SNCASE Sud-Est Se.2010 Armagnac......

The article comes from the 9th March 1957 issue of Les Ailes......

(Moderators, should this be in the post-war section? I cannot tell if the design was started before the liberation of France......)

In the great Docavia-34 book "Latécoère. Les avions et hydravions" is the same 3-view with many other projects.
The 160 is depicted as "proposed in 1945" as land-derivative of the flying-boat 150 (designed in 1942), so the 160-design is probably dated 1943-44, for the fist sketches at least.
52 passengers on 2 decks. Max. speed 592km/h at 8,000m altitude. 4 engines 24Z (double-12Z) of 3,600hp each.
Project cancelled when the 24Z engine was itself cancelled.
