Khatchurov R-35-300

I've used the search function, and not come up with anything on this engine.
Even generally on the internet, informatio seems very scarce.

This engine powered the last and most capable editions of the Mig-23, the ML, MLA, and MLD.

It is a very powerful turbojet, rated at 8500kg dry, and 13 000kg afterburning, in a relatively compact package, all things considered.

Some questions:

Who were Khatchurov?
I see the Mig-23 were generally powered by the Tumansky R-27 or R-29.
Yet the Mig-23SM was fitted with an engine designated Khatchurov R-29-300.
How are Khatchurov and Tumansky linked?

Is the R-35 an improved R-29?

Does ayone have any further info on the R-35?

Yes the R-35 is an improved R-29 , it's lighter, yet more powerful. Here's a bit of info here , you'll need to put it through a translator.

The R-29B version powered MiG-23BN/MiG-27 and Su-22 subtypes.
PS: Seems Khachaturov was the chief designer of this engine working in the Tumansky OKB.

I've just had a brief look at the R-35 page, and there is already a far better description there than anywhere else I've seen.

It certainly looks like a very impressive engine.
