It's worth to remember that Japanese word Kaizo means Modification and the abbreviation of its qualification should be written Kai not KAI. In the same way we write Ki which is abbreviation of Kitai meaning Airframe and the abbreviation Ha comes from Hatsudoki ( Engine ).
I'm always interested in Japanese designation of aircrafts so e.g. the Kawasaki Ki-10 II Kai is named Kawasaki Kyū-Go-Shiki Sentōki Ki-Jū Ni-Gata Kai.
