All - John Batchelor MBE, arguably one of the best technical illustrators ever, passed away the other day at his home in Dorset, Great Britain. John was 86 and he died after a battle with a long illness. John's work is well know within aviation circles. Among other things, John was famous for his unbelievably detailed cutaway illustrations (I've shown a picture of his F-22). In his later years, he was renowned for his postage stamp illustrations. John's work has been published in numerous books including, for example, the Time Life series on Aviation and Ships. John's personality equaled his artistic skills - he was among the nicest individuals anywhere. He will be sorely missed.
