The compound shown above has its roots in a much older Hughes design proposed around the late 1960s:

Apologies for the thread zombification, but I'm guessing the "compound helicopter" in hesham's first image uses the hot cycle tech? The blades don't look to have the XV-9A-type tip diffusers, but I see no tail rotor either?

the helicopter in first post had a tail rotor in its fin,looks like Aerospatiale SA-360
Daulphin.

Hi hesham - is that under the horizontal stabiliser? It's hard to make out.
