I am looking for a drawing or picture (I think it was in a US magazine
of the time) showing the MBT 70 being carried on the HET 70 transporter.

I have lots of info on both systems but no photo or drawing of them both
together. I would like to get a model made of them.

Fraid the link is too much for the computer here. I need the needle rather than the haystack

It's a very nice picture.

Second link, use (control+F), enter '70', and click till you find it.

(Edit: Picture added from the given source. Just crudely stitched together, but it's a bit
difficult, as it was printed over the centerfold)

These Pictures seat in my file for a long time, can not remember where they come from.

The semi tractor in these picture do resemble the model.

pic1~4 seem to be XM194E2, not the HET70
The HET70 was developed by FAUN and Chrysler, they built the trucks independently.
The U.S. version was known as the XM746.

If I remember correctly the semi tractor in pic5&6 is XM-746.

Pictures 1-4 are of the US XM194 prototype 8x8 heavy truck from the mid-50s that was never adopted. 1 and 2 were taken after the prototypes were sold off to private firms after the projects was terminated. 5 and 6 do look like HET 70's

What is the total all-up weight of an MBT plus transporter?
I am guessing close to 140 tons.

According to Werner Oswald "Kfz und Panzer der Reichswehr, Wehrmacht und Bundeswehr" it would have been
88,660 kg. The MBT 70/Kampfpanzer 70 is given as 50,000 kg, the tractor unit as 22,500 kg and the trailer as
16,160 kg.
