GE XA100 and P&W XA101 AETP engines

Article is now unlocked:

Oh well.. it'll be an XA-100 derivative then. We'll have to wait and see what P&W brings to the table.
Hrmmmm...
But Tweedie says there will be differences in the size and performance of the NGAD application.
So, it's not going to be a 45" inlet? And there's no way the USAF would accept a lower power engine, so are we going to see engines the size of the NK32 from the Tu-160, 57" inlets?!? (no, probably not that big, but I'd expect 50" inlets)

huh...
While the technology used in both AETP and NGAP will be largely the same, Sneden explained, the future NGAD’s engines will be sized differently from those of the F-35. That means elements of AETP would have to be resized and redesigned to be suitable for NGAD.
Bigger inlets here we come!
