From Ailes 3/1950,

We know Indraéro Aero-20 & Aero-30 light aircraft,but always I ask myself,what was the
beginning, and Mr. Jean Chapeau which formed Societe Indraéro in early 1950s,he designed
with Mr. Blanchet Aero-10 & Aero-11,a tandem two-seat light trainer and touring biplane.

Also he created Aero-20 and Aero-30 a Projects as I guess, because the actually built was
anther aircraft,all details are here.

It would appear that the Scintex ML-145 is not alone, from amongst the aeroplanes featured in this thread, in having been actually built and flown. If Pierre Gaillard (Les Avions Français de 1944 à 1964) is accepted as authority, the following were both built and flown (the dates in parentheses being that given by him generally as that of their first flights):

Holleville Bambi (27.7.53)
Petitbon RP.40 (1.9.53)
Poullin JP.30 (15.8.52)
Mangin MRC.1 (9.51)
Krueger EK.51 (29.5.50)
Micro-Aviation RG.501 (1949)
Grenet G.47 (1948)
Fleury RF.10 (9.48)
Paumier MP.1 (1948)
Bassou Sport (1948)
Chapeau et Blanchet Lévrier (1946)
Williams X-28 (1947)
Lavoisier LP.24 (1946)

I accept that it cannot be proved, categorically, that all of the foregoing flew. But all were constructed (hence the photographs) and those that didn't fly were, at least, completed and many underwent ground testing. Such is evident from the text of the articles and news reports, in Les Ailes, which accompanied the photographs taken therefrom which have been posted on this thread. Perhaps it would be preferable to post the photographs in the context of those articles and news reports, translated into English, and material concerning the aeroplanes that appears in Pierre Gaillard's book and other books which record the largely amateur built aeroplanes of this period?

From Ailes 3/9/1955,

here is a ultra-light tandem wing aircraft Project, designed by Daniel Robert Bancharelle, his concept looks like G. C. Richard,
and by the way he was a well known pilot.

I don’t see a problem with including built prototypes/one-offs in this or other project threads.

Matthew Long, Editor
cluttonfred.info

Nor do I, but I do think that it would be helpful, in text accompanying a post, to distinguish between (a) projects which existed only on paper and (b) prototypes and 'one-offs' which actually were built and flown.

From TU 161,

also Mr. Emile Bogaert designed airplane called EB-3;

On September 15, 1950, Emile Bogaert obtained the flight permit for a new aircraft called EB-3 N ° 01,
equipped with the same Aubier-Dunne engine. registered F-WCDM, it was a single-seater low wing
monoplane and fixed gear, piloting in the open air. It is assumed that it was the last plane built, by
this amateur, still installed in Moisselles. From the numbering (EB-3) we can assume that Emile Bogaert
had imagined three aircraft, but the editor of this section has no other information on the achievements
of this manufacturer.

here is an airplane called Ortolan, designed by Chapelle-Mettaux.

You'll find a lot of confusion of this type ... mainly because generic names and designations keep popping up. At the heart of it is whole muddle of the Williams/Mourlot 28-X (hence the '28.X' reference in your clipping) which we've discussed before. So, how to untangle it?

First, that Ortolan 'name'. Sounds like an intentional naming ... after all it is the French name for the Ortolan Bunting (imfamous for its appeal to immoral gourmands). But this little airplane was not named after a bird. It was named after its builders: the brothers François and Joseph Ortolan. Some sources say that F-WFUR was also built by the Ortolan brothers.

For some reason unknown to me, many homebuilders constructing Williams 28-Xs gave them fresh designations with 23, 24, or 25 - eg: T-23 (1950) and M-23 (1951) Trinité, Ortolan T-24 (1951), and various MW-25s. F-WFUR was the T-23 Trinité homebuild first flown on 27 September 1950.

So, who were MM. Chapelle-Miettaux? The only mention of the former that I've found says that M. Chapelle was a member of the Aéro-club de Lyon. So too was Lucien Miettaux (who, back in 1936, had built the 'Sablier' - another homebuilt aircraft - with his brother).

An obituary notice for Lucien Miettaux mentions that it took five years to complete the 'Ortolan'. So, one possibility is that what François and Joseph Ortolan actually built was a semi-completed kit aircraft which was then slowly completed by Messers. Chapelle and Miettaux. But there is another possibility in which MM. Chapelle-Miettaux modified an already-completed airframe.

The Miettaux C-1 pops up as a Williams 28-X type completed around 1950. But, whereas the other Williams 28-X variants are open parasols, the Miettaux C-1 is described as a high-winged cabin monoplane. So, was the C-1 ('Cabine un?) the T-23 Trinité F-WFUR retrofitted with an enclosed cockpit? Or did Chapelle-Miettaux build their very own Williams/Mourlot type which just happened to inherit the T-23 Trinité's registration?

Few answers there but hopefully some food for though ...[/U]
