Hi,

the Flight Refuelling designed many airliner aircraft
projects,started with RF-10 and up to RF-16,

But here is a little known design to it,it is the RF-500,
a variable-speed multi-purpose target drone [RPV],
it was developed for the Ministry of Defence to meet
the requirements of the Royal Navy,it had an estimated
speed of 926 km/h,575 mph.

The Hayes towed-target licence led to FR's own Rushton, then to a close-in Naval Low Level Height Keeper (Black Kite), then to the Phoenix frisbee. Other flying-thing-schemes were doodles, maybe to inspire proper design teams to come up with homes for FR's components. Engine firms did much the same.
