Hi,

the Fairey FC.6 was a double deck commercial airliner project, intended for Empire
and Transatlantic routes and powered by four Bristol Proteus engines.

If it was to be powered by Proteus, that places it firmly in the postwar period.

In Richard Payne's 'Stuck on the drawing board' it is identified as a submissision by Fairey to a BOAC LRE (Long Range Empire) requirement. Payne confirms Proteus powerplant.

Payne identifies the LRE as specification 5/48, so does 'The British aircraft specifications file' by Meekcoms and Morgan, Air Britain 1994.

Correct ! According to Richard Payne, it was proposed as a design of the Queen Series", together
with the FC4 and FC5, so I've changed the title somewhat.

Fairey Queen. Would have been the campest name for an aircraft!
