Тhe idea comes from the fact that jets from the 50s needed asphalted runways
and during the Soviet intervention in Hungary, the runways from which a Hungarian MiG-15 took off, which shot down Soviet helicopters, were severely bombed this disabled the use of the Hungarian MiG-15 and it was these actions of the Soviet aviation against the Hungarian airports began the development vertical take-off and landing of an aircraft. But a much easier solution was to modify a aircraft to take off from zero with the help of booster rockets a concept similar to a me-169 comet or like spider how are waiting for its prey in its cobweb. This tactic was used to some extent on the MiG-19 MiG-17 during the Vietnam War in order to surprise American aircraft.
When the Vietnamese used booster rockets in order to shorten the take-off of their planes.

But the advent of the KUB-M m and KRUG mobile ground to air missile system this project was stopped in the USSR. But still this system can still be a danger to modern aircraft today

Would you be kind to give us some source for that? I personally never heard about any zero length T.O system used in anger post WWII.

I was not precise North Vietnam used rockets in order to obtain some form of STOL aircraft in order to take off from small untidy dirt runways.

The problem with the MiG-19 was that it did not have one on the front Conical part And because of that disadvantage the MiG-19 could reach high speeds above 1.2 Мах only at an altitude of 10 km. But with the installation of this cone, the air resistance was reduced, which enabled the MiG-19 to develop speeds above 1 Mach at lower altitudes, avoiding the large shock wave of the compressor from penetrating the sound wall at lower altitudes.

Of course, there was this one, the family model, which only the Chinese built. This one is at the Binhai Aircraft Carrier Theme Park.

Over the past 72 years respected authors have published numerous works denying the Focke-Wulf heritage of the Soviet fighters and detailing the differences between the two design teams.
