Egyptian Indigenous tank developments

More recently I have heard rumours of Egypt wanting to develop a new Indigenous tank, possibly based on a T-90 but using a gas turbine.
What a hodgepodge of components, they should just tack on an T-80BVM order if they want turbines that badly...
Or maybe Russia is developing an Arctic T-90M with a GTD-1250 and Egypt wants in for whatever reason?

On a side note, has there been any news on M-60s upgrades, or has their T-90 order sealed the Pattons fate?

My dear GTX,

we began to develop it from 1984,and the news about T-90,I don't know
it or they don't tell me that up to this moment, and here is a speculative to
Ramses III.

Err @hesham I have much respect for you and your dedication to our forum, but is that not the Iraqi T-55 "Enigma"

What you have shown there is simply the Iraqi “T-55 Enigma”

real Ramesis II tank, with elongated chassis, M60 style running gear. Heard that Ramesis II use a Continental AVDS-1790 engine with a Renk RK304 transmission.

The Ramsis III is completely different, looks like a modern one,and its price is 5 Million $.

Is it true Egypt was considering the Vickers Mk.7 before they went for the Abrams? I'm also surprised the US allowed them to have local production rights.

Yes, Egypt carried out trials of the Mk.7 in the mid-1980s, despite the fact that an agreement for domestic licenced final production of the Abrams (in effect a downgraded export variant) had already been agreed in 1984. This may be explained at least in part by the fact that in 1985 serious difficulties were already arising with the Abrams co-production program (the new production line ultimately wouldn't be ready until 1988, and that was really only the start of the program's woes, including massive cost overruns and major technology transfer issues).

Also Sinai-200...

Online sources say the Sinai-200 is a product of AZSI (Abu Zaabal Company for Specialized Industries aka Factory 300). Since this is a demonstrator, I presume that AZSI has 'repurposed' existing BMP-1 drivetrain components.

Would a production Sinai-200 use nearly-manufactured drivetrains, I wonder ... or its this strictly a 'recycling' exercise?

Nothing is known about that, but it is distinguished by a shield ; Q-NetArmor,and that's not
familiar in small tanks !.

Egypt is making these new build, they are related to both Mtlb and Bmp, Egypt gained MTLB design and production abilities from either Ukraine or Bulgaria.

These are the M60 either vismoded to look like Israeli Tanks or with Passive Armor and sideskirts.

I'm thinking the U.S. was simply desperate to get anyone to buy and operate the Abrams at the end of the day.

They look like a partial/cheaper copy of the M60T turkish Sabra upgrade ?

This is old.
This is an Ex British Sherman fitted with t54 tracks (Not to be confused with T-54!) and Amx-13 Fl-10 75mm Turret
Egypt had a few of these, but never had more than 150 Shermans from 1949-1973.

This is a T-34 Fitted with T-54/5 road wheels and tracks.
This was in all actually a very popular upgrade, that the soviets also did for their client states.
Egypt included side skirts.

This is a Bmp fitted with 122mm d-30, It is worth noting that this is casemated, and Egypt has been building the d-30 122mm since ages.

All attempts for fitted with 122mm was failed except with another body, and T-34 was involved in 1973 war.

That is correct, with the exception of where Egypt assembled M109's with a casemated 122mm, and Egypt has been fitting base m109s with 122mm which are no longer able to rotate their turrets.

Long time ago, in Gamal Abdul Nasser's time, there was a design to mount a D-30 on a T-34.
It was called T-34/122 in the West.

So a T34 model 1960/69, with T55 skirts and tracks? Looks great!

Were there any accompanying fire-control or ammunition improvements?

No not that I am aware of, egypt also used the su 152/100 and did the same to them, finally removing the guns and using them as command post vehicles and engineering vehicles.
Theres not much you could improve on a t-34 fcs in the 1970-85 time period.
